Ros Kelly’s life in the country
We liked this lead item from today’s Spike gossip column in the SMH:
Ah, life
away from politics and those dreaded whiteboards couldn’t be rosier for
Ros Kelly. Spike hears congratulations are in order for the former
sports minister, who these days resides in the verdant hills of the
Southern Highlands. At last weekend’s Moss Vale Show she won a first
and second prize for her cut flowers, which we believe were roses.
Kelly and her husband, Dr David Morgan, the CEO of
Westpac, are well known among the tweed set in the Southern Highlands
for their green thumbs and flowers. Last year the magazine Highlander
commissioned Ita Buttrose to profile Kelly and her life in the country.
“You should see my tractor. It’s beautiful. An 82hp tractor. I mean,
how good is that?” Kelly tells Buttrose as she flips through the pages
of the Trading Post looking for a front end loader.
CRIKEY: And how many gardners can you employ when your husband has made about $40 million running a government licenced bank.
