Readers were quick to comment on the first edition of the “new look” Crikey Daily, with a typical mixture of blunt criticism and fond praise. We’re keen to know what everyone thinks, so if you have any comments to add, just email them to letters@crikey.com.au. Meanwhile, here’s a selection of some of the feedback so far:
Elegant new design, good subbing, nice variety and a professional distinction between news/comment/rumour. At this rate, Crikey.com.au will quickly fix its pair of Achilles heels – sloppiness and uncertain credibility. Congratulations to the new owners – and to Stephen Mayne for building an original concept worthy of development.

Former Age editorIt is day one and the proposed changes below already have people questioning whether they will remain subscribers. The general consensus was that it was pointless being a subscriber if you receive your update one a day and only on weekdays. One of the reasons I personally subscribed to crikey.com.au was because it provided topical opinions, scoops and information in an environment that was fast.
Craig OtteMost people read Crikey on screen. Times New Roman is about the worst screen font going round – Tahoma or similar is MUCH better. Has to be a sans serif font to be clear on most machines.

MelbourneBest wishes etc. One question: will you produce extra emails if there is a late-breaking story?

I thought it looked great! I am on Outlook here – so everything works really well! I noticed the numbers are gone – so you don’t know if you’re in the middle of reading or near the end. I guess it’s just different. I also like intro piece. Fonts are good also.
