Ex-Media Watch host and SMH scribe David Marr delighted a greying audience of latte sippers at Melbourne University last night with a 20-minute sermon on ethics in journalism. Marr repeatedly mocked David Flint’s new book ‘Malice in Media Land’, and even impersonated the ex-ABA chief’s distinctive drawl. Marr was upbeat about the need for ‘verdict’ driven journalism and apologised for describing Flint’s political views as “kindergarden” on Lateline a few weeks ago, saying he had since revised his assessment to ‘infantile” — which drew rapturous applause from fellow panelist and ex-Deputy PM Brian Howe.
… and an observant traveller asks:
What was former NSW premier and multiple board member Nick Greiner doing flying down in economy class on QF 464 from Sydney to Melbourne last night?
