When a so-called top sporting team gets absolutely hammered, there’s always a danger the media will focus on the “hammered” rather than the “hammerer”. And that’s certainly the case with Melbourne Storm’s 50-4 absolute hammering of the Brisbane Broncos on Saturday night.
Anyone looking at the score would be forgiven for asking whether the Broncos sent one of their feeder teams to Melbourne? No – they were close to full strength. But anyone who watched the game will surely have come to the conclusion that the Broncos were as BAD as the Storm were GOOD. In fact the Storm were very, very good.
