Is the
taxpayer still helping former NSW Liberal Senator John Tierney enjoy
life after politics? The junior Group apparatchik has been offered a
gig as a director with Michael Yabbsley’s Government Relations
Australia, and is running for the state executive of the Liberal Party.
All
state council delegates lucky enough to be voting in the upcoming
elections have received their own individual item of John Tierney
memorabilia – a full colour booklet highlighting the former Senator
achievements and testimonials from his colleagues, courtesy of the
taxpayer, local Liberals say.
Some say he wants to wreak revenge
on those who didn’t vote for him at his pre-selection last year. Others
say that he is running for the position of country vice-president as
part of a left attempt to hold back the conservative tide sweeping
through the NSW Liberals.
