If it’s not the Seven Network stripping away viewers, it’s Ten. The country’s third commercial network last week had its best week of the year thanks to the return of Big Brother’. Ten finished a close second to Nine on Sunday night, both easily relegating Seven to a distant third.
Nine won last week with a 29.7% share to Seven on 26.0% with Ten on 24.6%. The ABC ended on 14.7% and SBS on 5.0%.
Last night though, thanks to Big Brother and the TV premiere of Star Wars episode 2, Ten ended up with a 30.4% share, just behind Nine with 31.7% and Seven way back on 20.3%. The ABC was down on 12.3% and SBS finished with 4.8%.
X-Factor shuffled out of Ten’s schedule last night, the final attracting 870,000 viewers. It was a sort of “so what” finish to the expensive flop for Ten. Nine did well last night with Sunday night news (1.9 million people), CSI and 60 Minutes, in first, second and third.
Nine’s Celebrity Circus finished 7th, with 1.44 million people, down around 80,000 from its first episode the previous Sunday. Big Brother was 5th with a solid 1.511 million people while the Star Wars movie was a place behind with 1.471 million.
