There was a big move back to Seven last night as Nine’s recent strength on Monday nights weakened noticeably. That came as Super Nanny UK’s audience again stalled at around the 1.3 million mark, down half a million from its recent peak.
Seven News won nationally at 6pm over Nine News and Today Tonight beat A Current Affair again in the 6.30pm slot. Seven also won the news battles in Sydney, Adelaide and Perth. TT also beat ACA in Sydney, Adelaide and Perth.
The national margin for news was only 20,000, but in Sydney it was a massive 126,000 people. ACA even attracted more viewers in Sydney (356,000 to 326,000) than Nine’s news, read by Mark Ferguson.
Home and Away on Seven beat Big Brother at 7 pm and was watched by more people on average than the Live Nomination episode from 7.30pm to 8.30pm.
Desperate Housewives regained the two million mark (2.059 million) to be the most watched program on the night and was followed by Today Tonight and Seven News, a top three trifecta for Seven and saw it win everywhere and end up with a national average of 30.2% to Nine on 26.2%, Ten down on 22.1%, the ABC up on 15.7% and SBS on 5.8%.
The ABC line up was again dominated by Australian Story with 1.082 million and Andrew Denton’s Enough Rope on 897,000 people. Four Corners and Media Watch both tumbled.
