Sam Chisholm’s second push against the NRL Footy Show can’t
be too far away after a sharp slump in the audience in Sydney
last night.

The show was watched by an average audience of 243,000 in Sydney, down 94,000 or
around 30% from a year high the previous week. The Brisbane audience was up
to 150,000 from 125,000 last week (the year low for that market).

The miserable nature of the performance is underlined by the
fact that it should have been boosted by the
second League State of Origin game to be played in Sydney next
Wednesday.

Chisholm was heard saying at the
Kennedy funeral last week that Rebecca Wilson would be back on the NRL Footy
Show. Well, she might have bolted after one appearance, but her
comeback cannot be far away. Last night’s performance makes that very
probable.

The Melbourne
based AFL Footy Show was watched by 409,000 people last night, not bad, but
more than 80,000 under the season high last week.

Elsewhere, Seven News beat Nine News nationally and in Sydney, Today Tonight widened the gap over A Current
Affair, Sunrise
continued to beat Nine’s Today show easily, leaving Sam Chisholm with three
major headaches.


Lost was the most popular program again, Seven News was
second, Nine News third and TT was fourth.

Seven won the night with a 30.2% share to Nine with 29.8%, Ten
down on 21.2%, the ABC with 14.8% and SBS with 4.1%.
