The
Australian head of state in faraway London has downgraded her new
daughter-in-law – causing our next king considerable angst. Camilla of
Cornwall is no longer the second-ranking royal woman, a place always
reserved for the wife of the Prince of Wales.
The Queen has
decreed that as the new wife is not royal – neither was Diana but it
seems that doesn’t matter any more – she cannot take pride of place. So
the Princess Royal, the queen’s twice-married daughter (who, if it
comes to pedigree, is only quarter royal anyway) pops up to second
while Princess Alexandra of Kent , Elizabeth’s cousin – who is more
royal than any of the royals – jumps into third place.
That
leaves the fourth spot for the woman destined to be Australia’s next
queen consort. If the Queen had tried, she couldn’t have delivered a
more humiliating insult to her eldest son and her new daughter-in-law.
The Windsors hate hard and they hate long – witness their disgusting
behaviour to the Duchess of Windsor which lasted for over a half a
century. In normal circumstances this new act of Windsor bastardry
would hardly rate a mention – but we’re talking about the behaviour of
our head of state, who is claimed to be above reproach.
