How’s this for an interesting snippet from the 23 June edition of Mark R Anderson’s tech industry Strategic News Service (www.tapsns.com). It’s a private email to Mark from new Telstra CEO Sol Trujillo:
Mark,
Thanks for sharing this piece esp. for those
of us who could not be there. Bob was “spot on” in my view. As we all
know…dealing with symptoms takes you only so far but dealing with
root causes can change the future.Cheers, Sol Trujillo
PS
Fyi…I don’t know if you have read or heard…I am going “down under”
to run a little market cap company ($49B) called Telstra. They are a
company that plays a very important role in their country but also
potentially in the region of the world that they exist in. They still
have in the company’s portfolio all the elements for innovation and
“next-step change” in people’s lives. In addition, a massive government
sell-down of over $22B.It will be fun and challenging…stay in touch “mate”
Cheers, Sol
CRIKEY:
Don’t you love the “little market cap company” line – it puts Australia
in perspective. And does this suggest a strategic hankering after
regional forays?
