A couple of weeks back, we drew Crikey readers’ attention to 100k+, a Sydney mag that’s created “for people who want more.” Half of the hard copy magazine – as well as its website – is dedicated to senior executive jobs that start, unsurprisingly, at the curvaceous figure of $100K+.
But we received a tip yesterday that backer Deke Miskin, who launched the mag back in May, is pulling the plug on the publication. Our question then: will editor Eliza O’Hare’s latest venture go the way of the last magazine she headed up, the ill-fated B?
It’s news to me, said one 100K staffer this morning when we called magazine HQ. She told us she was still working there, so the answer was, quite simply “no.”
Publisher Chris Baynes did however confirm that 100K+ is rethinking how it uses advertising across the magazine and website. Does that mean they might can the hard copy mag and just keep the website? A “possibility but not a probability,” according to Baynes, who says there’ll be further decisions taken later in the week.
