Boring Alice fails to excite viewers
The
Alice isn’t wanted by TV viewers. There’s just no buzz
about it and people are not held by
what they see on screen.
Its audience figures peak early and then fade as
the evening goes on – not what Nine wanted to fill its weak Monday
nights for the next 19 weeks.
Last night it peaked at 1.185 million
in the first 15 minutes, tailed away to an average 895,000 in the 8pm
to 8:15pm period, then kicked up to average a million as people switched
back to Nine for Who Wants to be a Millionaire.
Both Sunday night’s figures and last night’s will disappoint Nine. The network
claims that The Alice will be a builder, but last night it was a clear third behind
Big Brother Nomination on Ten (1.338 million) and The Great Outdoors on Seven
(1.332) million). Even SBS’s Mythbusters got within 10,000 of beating The Alice.
