Chris Lacy is not the only Fairfax business
gossip writer moving. While she’s departing Fairfax for the Nine
Network in Sydney as communications director, Angus Grigg, the Rear
Window columnist on The Financial Review, is moving elsewhere in the paper. He will be replaced by James Chessell, from The Sydney Morning Herald, who would have been the normal replacement for Lacy.
Chessell has filled in at CBD in the past year or so whenever Lacy has been absent. But because his partner is moving back to SMH finance, he thought he should move to another finance section in the group and asked the AFR for a job. They signed him up and he apparently resigned to the SMH in a phone call just before going on holidays!
The Grigg/Chessell move will happen next month. Lacy’s replacement is not known.
