The Packers may be one of the richest and most powerful media players
in the country, but unlike some in the upper echelons of the corporate
crowd, they don’t need large opulent office space to prove it.
In
fact, so modest are the offices at ACP’s Sydney headquarters in Park
Street that the entire second level was recently renovated to make the
20 or so offices – including that of ACP boss John Alexander – slightly
larger.
But despite his office’s meagre proportions, avid
collector Alexander has still managed to accommodate a small number of
collectable items, according to a Park Street insider, including his
collection of rare stuffed Australian birds housed in a special glass
case.
Asked by Crikey about the stuffed bird situation, PBL
spinner Mark Westfield describes Alexander’s office as “ordinary,” and
that the “sprinkling” of collectables break up what is otherwise “a
very modest office.” After all, he says, it’s not unusual for
high-ranking executives to bring a few personal items into their
offices.
