I have two windows into
how Mayne manages its diverse healthcare operation – as I recruiter,
I’ve met many disaffected Mayne managers and in a personal capacity, I
also know quite a few people who work in the diagnostic division with
Mayne – but I can’t see an impressive leadership model through either.
So when Mayne says the pharmacy and diagnostic businesses continue to disappoint, it could be that the best way to seek the answer might involve a full length mirror and a long hard look.
The
new manager of the demerged Mayne businesses must push accountabilities
outwards and downwards to the professionals and managers who understand
what can be achieved and how to achieve it.
