It’s useful having the same CEO at PMP and Fairfax. It allows for great syngeries, as this story based on announcements from Fairfax and PMP shows.
The
two companies are carving up the printing and publishing interests of
the Cook family of Rodney, in New Zealand’s largest city, Auckland.
Fairfax, which already owns national and regional newspapers in New
Zealand, will add the 104-year-old Rodney Times newspaper to its stable. And PMP is buying the Times’ colour printing assets in a separate deal.
Both companies are sort of sharing a CEO at the moment: David Kirk is jumping from PMP to Fairfax in November.
