The BRW Young Rich List (subscription) – under 40 and worth more than $10 mil – is out today and is dominated by showbiz, sporting and property stars.

But what about another Rich List – the class traitors who are in the vanguard of the proletariat, knocking off the Petaluma one glass at a time, worth at least one million and supporting the ALP or the Greens. In other words, the Rich Lefties List.

Here are some starters:

  • Evan Thornley – the LookSmart founder looking smart at current capitalisation level
  • Mike Carlton – the highest paid left commentator in Australia?
  • John Dawkins – WA old money millionaire (I last spotted him wearing the uniform of the oppressor, a tweed)
  • Mike Fitzpatrick – the former Carlton captain and wannabe ALP MP is now worth over $50m
  • Kevin Reynolds – Secretary of the Western Australian branch of the CFMEU subject to some interesting claims about his wealth in the Senate on September 5 .
