Dear Christian: I’ve always been grotesquely fascinated by those
karaoke sessions at ASEAN meetings – Condi performing Sabbath’s War
Pigs, Dolly Downer doing I Am What I Am… Are there any similar
traditions here in Australia?
Dear Ollie: We may have seen the birth of a new one yesterday,
where you re-enact scenes from your favourite films in the last
Question Time of weeks when the Prime Minister is away. Do you recall
the Singing in the Rain sequence in A Clockwork Orange, the brutal attack on the tramp? Yesterday Petey and his droogs gleefully put the boot into
that political down and out, the ALP. Even mild mannered Christian folk
like Kevin Andrews joined in the ultraviolence. Very
disconcerting.
