Another fascinating tale of Queensland
Liberal shenanigans reaches Crikey.

The Liberal Party up north has had a thing for
slush funds for a while – and we hear an up-and-comer, a would be state MP,
thought it was time to get their share.

They got an overseas trip from the
political exchange program, but decided the per diem wasn’t enough, so they
asked the chair of their local party federal electoral committee for a bit of
help from party funds. It was refused – as it would normally be. This is money
to pay for election campaigns, after all.

It didn’t deter our hero. They found
another signatory to the account who was happy to help – to the tune of some
$2,000, we understand. Their dear old dad.
