Communications problems continue to bedevil
Mark Latham’s national book promotion tour. On Tuesday he was scheduled
to record a rare talkback session on ABC local radio 612 in Brisbane
with announcer Spencer Howson, due to be pre-recorded just after midday
and replayed around 4:45pm.
Howson had asked for talkback
callers for the pre-recorded segment and it’s believed up to 10 were
waiting to chat to the author. But come 4:45pm and no Latham and no
talkback.
So what happened? Well, just before 11am on Tuesday a representative
from Melbourne University Press called to say Mr Latham wasn’t keen on
talkback, even though the same representative had apparently agreed to
it the previous week and even called last Friday to confirm it.
