Yesterday’s front-page article “The day Packer told me: We’ll wipe you
out”, concerned Kerry Stokes’s evidence in the Seven Network’s damages
action over the demise of C7. Mr Stokes’s evidence was that Mr James
Packer said in 2000: “I’ve come to tell you that we’re going to take
the AFL rights off you. We’re all going to get together to take those
rights.” It was not alleged Mr Packer told Mr Stokes: “We’ll wipe you
out.”
