It’s SMH‘s letter of the day, made more so by the news that Clive Robertson will be returning to ABC TV in 2006. From Penny Cook
of Paddington, it addresses the problems in the 702 breakfast shift,
for which there has been some upswell of support for Robertson to
return after the departure of Julie McCrossin.

Simon Marnie has
been doing a sterling job filling in, Monday to Friday, and also doing
weekends. He is getting this weekend off, as he mentioned on air today.
But Ms Cook’s letter simply said: “ABC 702 has solved its funding
problems – Simon Marnie is now doing every shift as part of the new
workplace reforms there.”

The interesting point about the
letter was there were two letters directly above it calling for
Robertson to come back (and there are a number of similar comments on
the 702 guestbook) and Robertson was married for a short while to
well-known actor, Ms Penny Cook.
