Liberals suffer a significant backlash in John Brogden’s old seat of
Pittwater? Mayor Alex McTaggart yesterday announced he would stand as
an independent candidate in the upcoming by-election, the Manly Daily
reports today. McTaggart seems to be stressing the power of
independents over oppositions to force governments to deliver. “Cr
McTaggart also revealed he expected to meet Premier Morris Iemma within
days to discuss Mona Vale Hospital and also meet Roads Minister Joe
Tripodi,” according to the Daily.
