Before the recent unrest in some of Sydney’s
beachside suburbs, Australia
held a strong position as one of the world’s favoured holiday destinations,
ranking amongst the Top Ten preferred holiday destinations for New Zealanders,
Britons and Americans. Almost half of all New Zealanders aged 14 and over (46%)
would like to visit Australia on holiday a recent survey by Roy Morgan
International finds. This is higher than the next two destinations – the UK
(21%) and the US (20%) – combined. More Britons (15%) than Americans (12%) would
like to visit Australia on holiday however in both countries Australia is ranked
as the sixth most popular destination.
