I notice your
current list ignores one of the most venal of all providers, the University of
Central Queensland. This so-called institution of higher learning has in the
past given doctorates to Colonel Rabuka of Fiji and Judge Callinan of the High
Court. By no coincidence at all the UCQ Press has published works by each or
them. It is not clear if the degrees were part of a come-on or an advance on
royalties. As another famous Queenslander once put it, I know whereof I speak; I
was once sounded out for a similar deal which, being reasonably choosy about he
