Michael Pascoe writes:
It’s possibly a mistake to give him any
more air, but Daily Terror columnist Piers Akerman’s latest effort borders on the remarkable even by his own dubious standards of speaking
Rupert Murdoch’s mind.
Piers – or the “fat fraud” as Glenn Milne claims to call him – starts by re-branding the SMH as the Syrian
Morning Herald and then goes downhill, describing local Lebanese leaders as a
bunch of whingeing and whining “insufferable ingrates” and pretty much
suggesting the 25,000 Australians in Lebanon deserve whatever punishment they
get for not disarming Hezbollah.
Fatwa Piers particularly has it in for the
400 Australians trapped in southern Lebanon: “Presumably,
some of these Lebanese-Australians vote in the Lebanese elections and, just as
probably, also voted for Hezbollah candidates, though the group is listed by
the Australian Government as a terrorist organisation.”
Well, bomb the lot of ‘em then, I suppose.
And pack any that survive off to Gitmo. That’ll learn ‘em.
That’s Piers, that’s the Daily Telegraph,
that’s Murdoch.
