The ATO is grinding to a halt. Its new computer system is not
working. Bit like Customs last year. Assistant Commissioners are flying
everywhere trying to keep the lid on it (Brisbane, Albury and Perth),
that is why there are so many good news stories out there. Maybe they
need Carmody back – he signed off on it!

Initial rumours inside the ABC
are that we can expect around 400 redundancies in the coming financial
year, partly due to restructuring and partly due to financial
constraints and partly to pay for pay rises for employees.
