Scott watches dust as Woods does it again. Australia’s Adam Scott was unable to find the golfing miracle required on the last day of the WGC-American Express Championship, finishing tied for second a lazy eight shots behind – guess who – Tiger Woods. Woods shot four under in the final round to record his sixth straight win in strokeplay events, while Scott could only manage two under, having started the last round an unlikely six shots behind the world number one. As Scott said later: “He’s dominating the game. It’s not the first time he’s done it, either.” The good news for our Adam and the other PGA Tour hacks is that Woods now plans to take a break. Stuart Appleby shot five under in the last round, to finish tied for fifth.

The Schu wins to take F1 championship lead. Michael Schumacher is edging closer to a dream retirement, now leading the drivers’ championship after winning the Chinese Grand Prix overnight. Even sweeter for the Ferrari veteran is that he was able to win because of pit stop mistakes by Renault, which hampered his arch rival, Fernando Alonso. Schumacher and Alonso are now level on points, but the Schu has one more win, putting him in front. Australia’s Mark Webber even managed to win a point, finishing eighth.

Fox Footy goes out with a gag. At 4am on Sunday, Fox Footy ceased broadcasting, with Foxtel instead rolling AFL coverage into the new Fox Sports 3 channel. But you have to admire Fox Footy’s programmers for landing one last joke before they left the building. On Saturday afternoon, while the West Coast-Sydney grand final was being decided by less than a goal, Fox Footy ran a replay of last year’s grand final – between West Coast and Sydney and decided by less than a goal. At least one family was halfway through the game before it occurred to them that Foxtel might not have the rights to screen the Grand Final live, and realised they were watching the wrong match.
