Perhaps the climate sceptics (Christian) would like to have a look at this chart of global surface temperature anomalies from the US National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). It is clear that almost the entire land mass of the world is significantly warmer than normal – there’s more data here.

Whether this is human induced or not, the issue is one of risk management. If there’s a 50% chance that Stern is right then it has to be dealt with. Unfortunately, our risk managers are politicians! It’d be nice if journalists and politicians left science to scientists and respond to the advice of people who are expert in their field.
