In response to guidelines laid down by the Electoral Commission and the ACCC, the federal government continues to divest itself of electoral support. The following divestments have been noted:
Failure to make any headway in NSW election against worst government in history of civilised world (141,000 votes) Helen Coonan giving everyone a good ticking-off for complaining about crap broadband (11,500 votes) The idea that the new Minister for Ageing, Christopher Pine, who is 12, is interested in any way, in Ageing (503 votes) In the wake of that nice Senator Santoro, Senator Mason forgets to declare four managed funds on the Senate registry. (137 votes) Downer’s assertion that Santoro should have our understanding because he made a mistake, has suffered and is a human being (see also D Hicks) (68,000 votes) Ongoing series of interest rate rises, dollar at ten year highs, exporters and householders being offered up as human sacrifice (87,000 votes)
Consistent refusal to allow gay and lesbian marriage (57,000 votes)
Closeness of Howard’s relationship with Alan Jones (separate issue from above, 16,000 votes)
Costello’s pretence that “The Future Fund” is a sacred national treasure which must not be touched until he rips it apart to buy votes in October (1287 votes)
