The Safety, Rehabilitation, Compensation and Other Legislation Amendment Bill 2006 came into effect on 12 April, 2007. As a result “Australian Public Service staff will no longer be covered by workers’ compensation for accidents or injuries while you travel to and from work, nor during ordinary breaks from work (eg. lunch break activities, including sport or going to the shops)”.

The NRMA just released the results of their Motoring and Services member survey —  probably in more detail than they intended. The webpage they gave out is here … but a link at the top of that page lets you download an Excel file with every individual response, including email address, member number, and whatever comments the respondent left about “important issues”. A huge breach of privacy and survey anonymity.

The appointment of Carol Johnson to a role at Sensis is just a continuation of the cronyism that is rife in Telstra executive management ranks. It is no coincidence that the replacement for ex-chief information officer Fiona Balfour is another Sol acolyte, Tom Lamming, who just happens to have worked for Accenture, which just happens to have the vast majority of the billion dollar IT transformation program. Oh, and by the way, Lamming was also consulting to Sol and happened to be available. Nice.
