We told you so.
Amanda Vanstone fronted the press this afternoon at her Adelaide office to reveal that she’s quitting politics. Her decision to leave Parliament is effective immediately.
Just another step closer to Italy.
In tribute, her website was down at 12:51PM AEST.
The Adelaide Advertiser reports:
“It is always important to look to the future and with that in mind it is important for me to move on to the next phase of my life,” she told reporters.
She thanked Prime Minister John Howard for the opportunity to serve in his ministry, as well as husband Tony and work colleagues.
Her resignation comes just three months after Mr Howard dumped her from the ministry.
We contacted Signora Vanstone for more detail, but she was tied up meeting the press.
