A Crikey subscriber writes: My stepdaughter and I have the dubious pleasure of living in our dear leader’s electorate. She received a letter this week from Mr Howard and at the time I wondered why I hadn’t got one as well. When she finally opened it, I now know why. You see I don’t have a “Chinese” type name but my stepdaughter does. Unfortunately she is originally from Vietnam and was quite put out that Howard’s office would assume she is Chinese. Admittedly the Vietnamese and the Chinese do share names but her full name is distinctly Vietnamese. Another vote gone to Maxine I suspect.
