A Crikey reader writes: “This went round the far flung parts of Murray Green’s empire at the ABC advertising his Christmas drinks. It created a fair bit of resentment, especially the bit about having to pay for it. The bureaucratese is a bit alarming too. It was held in a sterile room on Monday and thirty people turned up. By all accounts it was a very dull gathering.”

Dear all

In February the ABC created a new entity to increase our commitment to international content and services. Australia Network, Radio Australia, International Projects and International Relations came together as ABC International with an emphasis on cross platform production and cross promotion.

The Melbourne teams have contributed significantly to the progress we have made in 10 months and there is evidence of strong audience growth as well as much appreciation of our services.

As part of saying thank you please join me for a drink and some nibbles from 3.30 pm on Monday 17 December at the Southbank Centre Level 4 Board Room and Terrace. In order to comply with the ABC Functions Policy for seasonal events, staff are requested to each contribute $2 towards the cost of this event. This can be paid on the day.

Look forward to catching up.

Regards,

Murray Green
