This week, we’d like to award Crikey’s Weekly Wankley to Grant Goldman at Sydney radio station 2SM for reducing the US sub-prime flow-on effect to a single racist aside.
Discussing NAB’s decision to raise rates for the third time in six and a bit weeks, Goldman commented (audio here):

Well, he was right, it is a great Aussie name — Fahour is an Australian citizen, of Lebanese descent. That happens from time to time.
As an ex-South-African, I am particularly sensitive to this sort of snide racist comment so I went on to the 2SM website to ask management for a comment on their position regarding this comment. Guess what. Website won’t accept my question!
It is ignorant people like Grant Goldman, who assume that because a name is foreign, so is the individual. This country is such a melting pot society, and has been moulded by migration, for many many decades. Get real Grant. Your a moron,
