The Polls – The Huffington Post points out that Gallup managed to release two different polls on the same day, one which had McCain ahead, the other led by Obama. Each way bet? Media outlets are also in disagreement about whether Obama got a poll bounce from his overseas trip, in what Ariana Huffington calls “a serious case of premature pontification.” — Huffington Post

Obama tackles the South – The Washington Post looks at Obama campaign’s strategy of rolling back the Republican stranglehold on the southern states by targeting blacks who haven’t registered to vote before. 100 days to the election – The Washington Post has published a calendar of the dates to watch as we enter the countdown – 100 days to the US election.The Huffington Post says the list is a little light on, and adds a whole bunch of other dates to watch if you are an election tragic .

Has Obama failed to reach “Values” voters? Obama’s outreach to “values” voters has been a total flop, according to the Talk Left blog. “Al Gore was getting 28% of white evangelicals in June 2000, according to Pew, Kerry got 26% in June 2004, according to Pew and Obama gets 25%.”

Bush authorises execution of soldier. Politico reports that George W. Bush has authorised the execution of an Army private convicted of a spree of rapes and murders in North Carolina in the 1980s. It was the first time a commander in chief has affirmed a military death sentence since 1957, half a century ago.
