Only being be able to read The Age/SMH online, from offshore, not that much to be missed….appalling tabloidish websites, thin on news, heavily mediated forums, repeating stories and themes started elsewhere in the world weeks or months earlier, etc. etc. News that Private Eye would equate with “bears do shit in the woods”, “the pope is a catholic”…. Sadly, truly independent media like Private Eye, The Week etc. would be sued and harassed out of existence for dissenting views…. does anyone in Oz really know what is going on in Oz? Keep up the good work and try getting sued or something 🙂
A perfect example of having to carry the weight of sacked fellow employees in corporate Australia. Take the short cuts. After the redundancies one employee will be doing the work of three. The capable move on, the weaker stay carrying the burden of those who move on without the ability to manage or plan leaving it even harder to be creative or have the time to follow up a lead. Oops…. a lead, forget that. Just rewrite another story and add your own by line. Better still, get the copy already typed straight from the minister’s PR assistant complete with photographs.
