Think Progress reports that John McCain has “falsely” suggested he supports federal funding for stem cell research in an interview with a CBS affiliate.
“Senator Obama is running four ads right now that are absolutely false about my positions on the issues,” McCain is reported as saying. “He says I do not support funding for stem cell research. I do. I mean, thats flat out wrong.”
“Of course, McCain did not specify what kind of stem cell research he supports. In fact, according to his campaign website, a McCain-Palin administration would only support funding for adult stem cell research and scientific studies that do “not involve the use of human embryos”.”
