The team at The Daily Telegraph website are the undisputed masters of the art of the photo gallery. We’d go so far to say that they rival the UK’s Sun or Daily Mirror for their deep knowledge of the dark magic that is compelling clicks.
Read to the bottom of any given story on their website and you will be richly rewarded with the promise of a photo gallery replete with images on the same tenuous theme.
Sometimes, on a good day, there’s no reason at all. Who needs an excuse to compile a slide show of Dogs in Sunglasses or Megan Gale’s boobs? Like bears to honey, or flies to dog turds, you can’t help but click on the stunning array of images that the Tele consistently produces day after day.
We at Crikey tip our hat to these creative montages. We still remember the day the paper set the bar a little higher when they gave us Celebrities Who Are Fruit.
But this time they’ve gone too far. Who commissioned the resident slide show artiste with the brief “S-x-mad misses who should know better” or the pithier “S-x Case Teachers“?
The Tele provided the aforementioned photo gallery as an additional teaser to compliment this morning’s top story: German teacher strips in front of students at party.
The website ran big with a video of a teacher in Zalaegerszeg, western Hungary — sorry, “racy brunette” — who was supervising a start of term party but then inexplicably stripped down to her underwear as Joe Cocker’s Leave Your Hat on blared and 15-year-old spectators clapped enthusiastically.
Saucy? Maybe (watch as she seductively rolls her stockings down over her ankle with the air of someone who’s done this before). Inappropriate? Most definitely. But on the same level as child r-pe? Perhaps not.
Giving new meaning to the term long bow, the Tele have uploaded, complete with captions, 124 head shots of “s-x-mad misses” to round out their stripper teacher coverage, or, more accurately, criminals convicted of r-pe, s-xual assault and child molestation:
Naughty ladies like Amy.
Or this minx.
Or the hilarious case of the woman who got it on with an eleven-year-old. And his dad.
Or Cathy, who instead of peeling her top off in front of the class, engaged in a bit of statutory sodomy.
We don’t mean to be prudes. But may we suggest that child molestation is less Benny Hill and more a deeply unsuitable subject for a light hearted photo gallery?
Daily Telegraph photo gallery monkey, we present you with this week’s Wankley Award.
A well deserved Wankley – but keep the galleries coming:P
“an additional teaser to compliment this morning’s top story” – yet another who apparently doesn’t know the difference between compliment and complement.
Sorry can’t help a little nit pick.
Disappointingly, this is the second time they’ve run this gallery. I was rather hoping for a new range of sex-mad teachers, or perhaps sex mad students. Still not as good as the 47 photos of boobs they ran under a story about a breast war between the Kardashian sisters. Does anyone else feel that sometimes the Tele should run a not safe for work warning? Their Summernats photo were certainly rather risque.
