Getting a bit bored at this lazy journalism – two items keep popping up:
1. Michael Jackson invented the Moonwalk – no he didnt Jeffrey Daniels of Shalamar did and showed him how:

I dont doubt Michael Jacksons place in the pantheon of entertainment but dont credit it him with “firsts” that wernt his.
This clip doesn’t claim MJ invented the moonwalk: “performed a relatively unknown dance move.” Regardless of whether he invented it or made it popular (and damn popular) it’s what brings a smile to my face about an era that MJ inspired – break dancing and pulling poses with a comb gripped in a white-gloved hand at school in year 5 (1984)… Not me, that was Blair… but at any rate that man inspired at least a couple of generations. Every life time has moments to celebrate…

Michael Jackson inspired break dancing ? Have you never heard of the Rock Steady Crew, World Famous Supreme Team, Airforce One who were all strutting their stuff on the streets of New York from the late 70’s onwards – do your home work.’
I love the Quincy Jones produced slickness of Off The Wall as much as the next man, its just the “false memory syndrome” that crops up during these periods that pisses me off
