This is fabulous; (a hopefully fully organic) vegetable garden and some excellent information for children to know that they can nurture and grow food as well as improve their diet. The references to Thomas Jefferson and Eleonor Roosevelt add a great touch of history too for the children’s education; and then to see them in the kitchen, doing some cooking with the produce they have grown is just wonderful.
Why don’t any Australian politicians or leaders do something similar?
All the Austalian sports ‘stars’, past and present, seem interested in increasing their income by endorsing borderline ‘energy bars’ or ‘energy drinks’ (one the exception being Michael Voss who did the great exercise ad in Melbourne a while ago). Or airconditioning systems. Or multivitamins. The list goes on…
Come on political/social/cultural and sports leaders; with obesity one of the most severe problems for current and future generations why aren’t we focusing on home grown food and healthy choices?
Bravo First Lady of the US!
