Had trouble getting the Video to load but it was worth the effort. Very interesting
This video really annoyed me because it tried to claim that the experience of the tour is different from the South Korean side. Actually, the DMZ tour from the South side is almost identical:
explosives to make tank barriers – check
rampant propaganda against the north – check
crapping on non-stop about reunification – check
crapping on about the great victory against the north/communism – check
warning you not to take video/photos – check
stupid display of aggressiveness done only for tourists (in the South this staring down the North soldiers in a tae kwan do stance purportedly to protect the tourists while the North soldiers look on bored. Display only done for tourist visits – check
warning you the northern soldiers will kill you in a heart beat – check
Hypocritically referring to everything the north does in the DMZ as “propaganda”, while blatantly propagandising for the south. Eg, we build propaganda village in DMZ with giant ROK flag pole that we call Freedom Village. North builds village in DMZ in response with world’s biggest flag pole – we call it “Propaganda village” (no one lives there you see!)
This is not a defence of North Korea. It just annoys me in this video that the narrator was completely oblivious to the fact the the tour on the South side is just as much a propaganda exercise.
