Bad news for Kevin Rudd this morning: The Courier Mail reports that a new Galaxy poll shows support for the ALP has plummeted in Queensland, with the Coalition leading the government 51-49 on a two-party preferred vote.
And a new Westpoll is showing similar figures in Western Australia — 51-49 to the Coalition, The West Australian reports.
Meanwhile, according to the Hun, bookies have dropped their odds of the Coalition winning the next election to $3.85 — the first time it has been under $4 in over a year.
Is the election that appeared unlosable for the government just months ago now becoming an actual contest?
So where does this leave last Friday’s missive:
“…Possum: Suggestions of Rudd’s demise are polls apart…”?
It’s not the first time cognitive dissonance has reared it’s head amongst the Crikey collective.
Maybe more journalistic focus should be on the “why” not the “who”.
Yeah stupid Crikey writers, unlike those at some other more reputable news sources, they don’t all line together up a repeat the same things over and over regardless of any new developments, information or personal insight. Amateur hacks the lot of them.
“Is the election that appeared unlosable for the government just months ago now becoming an actual contest?”
YES! Halleluja. Thanks be to Abbott. Praise the ETS!!!!
No, it is not a contest because it is not on yet. State polls are notorious for their small numbers of pollees and in Qld Bligh might be on the nose but they just had an election and Barnett has a minority government.
How about we stop this nonsense now?
what?
Abbott making headway in the redneck states where the state ALP is polling below 20%?
in WA, where Howard actually won seats last time?
what a surprise
does anyone take Westpoll seriously?
