MasterChef rumours run hot. Speculation has been mounting as to whether or not the Masterchef final this Sunday night will be filmed live or not. Today Crikey received this anonymous tip:

“Your tip from yesterday claimed the series final of MasterChef is not going to be filmed until Sunday night and not only that but it’s being recorded so late that it can’t possibly be leaked out. Interesting that on last night’s episode that they should show the final cook-off preview between Callum and Adam and they quite obviously would have told them the winner at the end of this. Who’s telling porky pies I wonder?”

Crikey has investigated and it appears that the episode from last night did showcase footage of the final cook-off between Callum and Adam, suggesting that the episode had indeed already been recorded. You can see it for yourself here. Crikey suggests, however that while the cook-off may have already been filmed, the winner of the series will likely be announced live so as to avoid any potential leaks and maximise ratings for Channel Ten.
