Don’t get us wrong, we really love the NT News.
We read it every day, no lie.
But let’s get this straight.
Now, more than ever, the newspaper industry must reassure its readers, advertisers and practitioners that it remains relevant and ready to take on the substantial challenges that lie ahead on the digital horizon.
In that context, the Pacific Area Newspaper Publishers Association (PANPA) industry awards were held last night.
And in that context, this masthead won ‘Best Daily Newspaper with a Circulation of 10,000-25,000’:
The future looks bright. And it seems to be wearing a bikini.
Oh noes! It’s a blonde not a ranga. 🙁
To say nothing of the question Bossy is asked to deal with.
The NT News should get back to what it knows best, crocs and sharks.
And the well hung boyfriend in the top right is a classic!
Yes – Crikey – damned with faint praise.
In the context of the recent election campaign the NT News has excelled itself with its inability to achieve any sort of balance in its reporting. It has bee exceptional with its determination to disparage anything like Coalition, Country Liberals etc, while all the time extolling the virtues of Julia etc.
Quite amazing really! But did they fire up over anything they could shoot at the candidate for Lingiari. They might yet hear more about that!!
And today we see them calling an 8-2 party room result as “turmoil” in the Country Liberals. Poor Mr Tollner let his personal ego and ambition get way over his political smarts, and that is reported as turmoil.
It would be great if we had an alternative to the NT News here in Darwin. The only readable page is the “letters” page, and even that page is desecrated by the Ediotrial each day – another opportunity for the editorial staff to demonstrate to all their incredible lack of balance.
Dare I call it bias??
