Most therapeutic.
In 1963, teaching a below average primary school 5th class, with the exception of a lass who really should have been in a special school, everyone was able to learn when to use an apostrophe. Nowadays even Education Department publications often find correct grammar beyond them, and once taken for granted literacy levels are beyond many ‘university’ graduates — not to mention more than a few ‘academic’ staff.
I’m sure they could learn the song — but understand what it’s all about? What a quaint idea.
fantastic. and the song ‘s 🙂 really catchy.
It’s language change and it’s natural – no point fighting it! Us over at Fully (sic) – Crikey’s language blog – are world leaders in embracing the amazing era we are now a part of where the apostrophe is becoming forever freed. As we say over Fully (sic), if you love you’re apostrophe, set it free! 🙂
