Mr Onthemoon, ditto. For years the mozzies gave me a wide berth, it was difficult to understand what all the fuss was about and why these little critters were so maligned by society. Then, mysteriously, it all changed… I became just one of the crowd. And part of their smorgasbord.

I have always been a mozzie magnet. Not so bad this year – Melbourne seems to have fewer mosquitoes than Brisbane (so far, anyway).

I think it was a mozzie
In the times that have gone by
That used to chase and bite us
But perhaps it was a fly
Today we don’t see mixo
That’s a threat unto the rabbit
But smuggled budgies everywhere
All thanks to Tony Abbott
No longer is it safe to be
Near a reddish kind of cozzie
So plant your steelcaps
Up his arse and say
“I swear there was a mozzie”.
