It comes as little surprise that Warnie’s show has been terminated. With one episode to go, News.com.au has reported that the final episode of the series has been shelved, despite the initial plan to play it this week.
While I’m certainly no advocate for the show, I fail to see why they wouldn’t just burn off the final episode this week. Considering the show was garnering a viewership of 762,000, there was a decent audience for it. Surely with figures like that it isn’t economically viable to go with a second series, with the cost of production outweighing the potential revenue, but surely those figures are high enough to broadcast a show that has already been paid for in the middle of the non-ratings period.
“Nine sources claimed the cricket-focused series had been cut short because Australia didn’t regain the Ashes”.
Oh, well, that explains that. *cough*
