Last week James Murdoch was endorsed by the board of BSkyB to stay on as the broadcaster’s chairman.
He then immediately faced a new push for him to make a repeat appearance before British MPs probing the News of the World phone hacking scandal.
In the days since Murdoch’s initial appearance before the British Parliamentary Select Committee on Culture, Media and Sport his evidence has been disputed by the last editor and former chief lawyer of the defunct NotW. The committee has voted against an immediate recall of Murdoch but will likely recall him after they receive written answers to new questions that have been sent to him and the two former executives.
We suggest that the committee keep this handy card on hand to refer back to James’ original evidence.
Poet and Crikey reader Hal Judge presents James Murdoch’s oral evidence, edited (some may say hacked) for the purposes of brevity, illumination and prose …
Hey Crikey, I’m tempted to dispute those quotes – I think you’ve accidentally re-published the testimony of Alexander Downer at the Royal Commission into AWB bribes. Or perhaps they sing from the same shonky songbook…
Yep. Same songbook…

When will we see this set to music and posted on U-Tube? It’s too good to waste.
Congratulations Hal, I enjoyed that compilation back in 2006 and it has stood the test of time. Classic Lord Downer.
Bearing in mind that James Murdoch has probably had the finest and most privileged education available, he doesn’t seem to know much, does he?
