When I was just a lad not one.
Was took down to see the Queen by Mum
I was barely off the teat, you see
But ready for her Majesty
To come and beam her face so kind
And sweetly kiss my bare behind.

Not much has changed through all these years
Except my bum has far more hairs.

And hardened too – as you’d expect
Like coins of the realm that you collect

And wonder this, if you but can
If HM will bring forth her old man
I’ll go and see them one more time
And kiss their arses if they’ll kiss mine.

And now in 2011, as Guy Rundle reports elsewhere in Crikey, the modern day version of our people’s poet, Nick Cave has had an audience with Her Maj.
The perfect chance to croon his lyrics from ‘Deep in the Woods’ that reflect the change in regard.
‘yeah I recognize that girl
she stumbled in some time last loneliness
but I could not stand to touch her now
my one and onlyness’

Well done FD and excellent work as usual MJ
I hear they are flying in instead of using the yacht, so that we wont intervene, process them offshore, and piss them off back to where they came from.
